Welcome to the whole body upgrade podcast. I want to begin by Welcoming in the directions east/south/west/north/directions that are above, directions that are below and those that are within.  I call in the elements of air, fire, earth, and water. Welcoming the well ancestors, guides and compassionate beings of the light. Acknowledging I’m on the land of the Creek and the Cherokee in what is now known as Athens Ga.

Hey sweet ones. This pandemic has been raging for a very long time and I’m exhausted. Whew. The emotional and physical fatigue around it is real. Now more than ever it is so important to take care of yourself on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual.

I know this seems impossible. You might even be wondering about how you could ever feel better. It might even be hard to imagine a version of you that isn’t exhausted. I see you struggling to get out of bed and hitting the snooze button over and over. I see you dealing with the rush of thoughts as you wake up each day. Wanting to work out, making big plans for a walk or stretching, and just not having the energy to even put on shoes or move from the couch. You go to the doctor’sto doctor’s hoping for answers, but are disappointed again and again. You are unhappy with your body with each ache wishing it was different. You know you need to change but you don’t know what steps to take. You may have doubts that how you feel will ever change. You might even feel like it will be like this forever and that this is just how it is. 

The 2 am google searches have you swimming in an ocean of confusion with the vast amount of possibilities, but with no clue as to how to tell what is right. The latest program to follow, the newest pill to take- ugh it’s so confusing! You are wishing for magical answers that will make it clear and easy. But you feel stuck- which one is the right one to follow? You are tired of feeling down and anxious about how to make life different. You may not know what is possible, but you know you just want to feel BETTER. There are so many different options and they all seem to contradict each other and it is all just so dark and hopeless, you want to throw up your hands and scream I GIVE UP!!

Dear one, I just want you to know that I see you, and I’ve been there. I have been the one googling late at night, doubting it would ever change, and at the same time desperate for relief. I was constantly wondering what to do next, and lost, confused, and stuck. I remember that feeling so well and it makes my heart ache to know that this is common for so many women. 

Listen- imagine me in front of you at the kitchen table. I reach out and take your hand, look you in the eye and tell you, “You don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to help, and I’ve walked this path many, many times before. You don’t have to figure anything out. You are looking for a formula for health, and we can work that out together. At the end of our time together you will be certain about how to take care of your body. You will have clarity about the path to follow. You will be inspired to nourish and care for yourself in ways you never thought possible.”

Take that in. That is what’s waiting for you. 

Let the doubt dissolve like “salt in a weakened broth” as Naomi Shebiha Nye says. Let the clouds of confusion pass away in the sky of hope. Dear ones, you don’t have to look any further. What you are waiting for is right here. I’m here. I see how you have been suffering and it doesn’t have to be that way any longer. 

Imagine that you see in front of you a version of you that has taken these steps toward health, clarity, and certainty. She is there waiting for you, smiling. What does she say? What does she know that you need to know? What is she doing each day? Is she exercising with ease and enjoying it? Cooking nourishing food that is not only feeding her body but also her soul? Is she hiking in the woods, or playing with her kids? Is she finally doing things that she enjoys? Does she feel clear, centered, and inspiredinspirited? Thank her for being with you and for all the information she’s provided.

You can be comfortable in your body. You can have energy to do the things you love.
