I want to talk to you about something very important today. As you know I’ve been dealing with my own health challenges, and I’ve been reminded of how difficult it is to navigate health and wellness. My heart just aches for the past part of me who just struggled so much and wished for someone to come and take my hand and guide me through the steps to start feeling better. The same is true for women I meet today.

What always is so interesting to me is that most women don’t even know it’s possible to feel better. In fact, they don’t even know that this depleted, exhausted, dissatisfied state they are living isn’t the way that it has to be. Many women think that this is just the way it is. That getting older (read over 30) just means you don’t have as much energy; that adulting is hard; that wine is mommy juice; and that cookies are a deserved trophy. 

Please let me expand on these because this might not be familiar to you:

  1. Being exhausted IS ACTUALLY A SYMPTOM. If you are exhausted and don’t have enough energy to play with your kids, or enjoy your life, that’s a symptom that something is off and that your wellness bodies are out of alignment; and what I mean is the 5 wellness bodies I use in the work I do with my clients: the physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual bodies.  If you need coffee and/or sugar to wake up and get through the afternoon, that is a symptom. Crashing at the end of the day and the end of the week may seem normal, but actually it’s been normalized in our society. It’s not actually normal. You were meant to be vibrant and alive. You were meant to be excited or at least not dreading every week. 
  1. I alluded to this second one already. It’s possible to FEEL BETTER.  This is true physically and emotionally. It’s possible to not be achy, sad, and depressed. Seriously. This is not normal—although once again, this has been normalized in our society. Our society has said that it’s normal to need wine at the end of the day to unwind; it’s normal to need a cookie to make us feel better about ourselves, or to be so stressed and overwhelmed we think being stressed out and busy is a badge of honor. Or even feeling bloated and sluggish is normal, but it’s not. This is not normal. Wanting to move the body or feeling rested and having energy without coffee, or being able to spend quiet time alone is closer to ‘normal’. I don’t know how many practitioners told me that “this is just part of getting older” when I complained of some of these issues. And what happened was when I shifted food, sleep movement, emotions, thoughts, energy, and soul essences, I started feeling better. Many of my clients experience the same thing and they are surprised how better they feel after a few weeks of working together. It’s amazing really how different a few small changes can make you feel. 

Perhaps as you are watching or listening to this, maybe you feel that little tiny inkling that maybe you don’t have to be this tired all the time, and that there is actually another possibility waiting and you actually want to feel better and have more energy. Maybe that nightly wine is feeling a little less exciting. 

Or maybe you had a similar experience to mine where you are trying everything, but nothing is cutting it and you are finally ready for someone to take you by the hand, guide you, and say you are worth it.

How to Stop Suffering. Ep. 70 Whole Body Upgrade

This may seem like a strange topic, but it’s really what most of us spend our lives doing. We swim around in the sea of suffering. It’s all around us and we don’t even know that we are in it because we think that that’s all there is. Just misery. In Buddhism, the saying is that pain is inevitable, AND suffering is optional. What if there was a way to stop that suffering? It’s all about turning your attention to the present, not what that critical voice in the head is saying.
