If you’ve been following me on Instagram or Facebook, you know I’m pretty excited about using mindfulness in your everyday life. Why am I so excited? Because it works. I’ll give you an example from my own life that I shared on my newsletter.

Things are pretty busy right now- it’s a particularly busy time of year at work and at home- the kids have soccer, baseball, cross country. My husband and I are both in academia, and I’ve been teaching more mindfulness workshops (3 in the last month)!

On top of that, there are the regular parts of life that need to get fit in around the edges. For me, it was time to go to the dentist. So, there I was sitting in the dentist chair, and I realized I had a choice. I could either be lost in the story of “I have so much to do” or I could be present in that moment. I’ve set up my life in such a way that I’ve made it an (almost) automatic choice of choosing the breath and the present. So I had a mini-meditation while my teeth were cleaned. I left the dentist feeling more calm then when I had walked in the hour before!

Years ago, I would have grumbled and planned while getting my teeth cleaned (or standing in line or waiting at a stop light).  And then I decided I wanted to try something different. I decided I there had to be a better way of feeling instead of just wishing for _________ *insert challenging situation* to end.

Then I stated learning more about how to feel better using the breath as a tool, and meditation. It was amazing that I didn’t have to give up anything, or buy any fancy equipment. I just practiced building my attention to what I wanted to focus on- the present. Then something amazing happened- I learned it wasn’t that my circumstances had to change for me to feel better. I could be in the same life, with everything exactly the same, and I could feel better. More relaxed. Less stressed. Happier.

I want others to know it is possible to feel better, and with a little practice, it can make a huge change. That’s why I created a course called Everyday Mindfulness.

This 4- week class will cover the basics of applied mindfulness- in other words, how to get mindfulness into your life now! I’ve set up the class with maximal support- because learning new habits can be challenging!

You’ll receive:

  • Weekly videos on the concepts and practices of mindfulness.
  • Weekly calls for support and community (Mondays at 3pm– don’t worry all calls are recorded in case life happens!)
  • Private Facebook group for daily support and tips

Course Outline
Week 1: Just Breathe
Week 2: Come to your senses
Week 3: Mindfulness into Movement
Week 4: Eat your way to peace

Want to learn more? Read more about the course here or email me! We begin Monday 9/25 at 3pm EST and I’d love to have you join me.

Peace and Mindfulness,

Rebecca
